Well, I'm sure that it doesn't really matter that you were calling them, because it shows that you are interested in the job and are devoted to getting the position. However, filling out the application incorrectly could show impatience and could put the manager off, but it shouldn't really make a difference. If anything, it sets you apart from all the other applicants.
